The Purafil Emergency Gas Scrubber (EGS) is designed to control catastrophic gas releases from 68kg to over 2,727kg while mitigating any risk to human lives in the surrounding communities. This scrubber prevents toxic chlorine (Cl2), sulfur dioxide (SO2), or ammonia (NH3) gas releases, resulting from a failure in the storage cylinder or system, by providing immediate removal of leaking gas. It is built for indoor and outdoor installation and it requires minimal maintenance
Instead of using toxic liquid caustic to neutralise gases, the EGS uses dry-scrubbing media. If the media is properly installed and there are no releases of gas into the EGS, you will not need to replace the media. We offer free media life analysis to ensure optimal media and system performance.

Convert to a Dry Scrubber
Dry scrubbers have several advantages over conventional wet scrubbers. For instance, dry scrubbers require significantly less maintenance than wet scrubbers. They have just one moving part – a blower. No need to hassle with pumps, spray nozzles, or pH controls! Dry scrubbers are much safer, too. Instead of using toxic liquid caustic, they neutralise gases with non-toxic dry-scrubbing media. Purafil media permanently transform gases into harmless solids. Unlike liquid caustic, dry-scrubbing media are immediately available for instantaneous reaction, regardless of the load rate. With wet scrubbers, the amount of gas fed into the scrubber has to be known or measured. Purafil’s EGS design can provide discharge concentrations as much as 100x lower than representative wet scrubbers.
