Deep Bed Scrubber (DBS)
The Purafil Deep Bed Scrubber (DBS) is a highly effective, bulk media scrubber designed for controlled environments with medium-to-high contaminant gas levels. The DBS remedies the gases’s corrosive effects and meets stringent air quality standards set by the International Society of Automation (ISA).
The Purafil Deep Bed Scrubber (DBS) for corrosion control is designed for areas where high contaminant gas levels are present. It provides protection against environmentally induced corrosion in control and switch gear rooms equipped with electronic process control systems. The DBS is ideal for refineries, steel mills, smelters, chemical plants, petrochemical plants and other hostile environments. Each DBS is designed to deliver “G1” air to the space it is protecting according to the environmental standard definition set by the International Society of Automation (ISA).

Corrosion-Free Air

Each DBS delivers “G1” corrosion-free air to the space it is protecting. The scrubber’s aluminum construction is corrosion resistant and capable of withstanding outdoor conditions. The DBS is designed for installation outside of the space it is protecting, making it suitable for retrofit applications or in environments without room for air purification equipment within the space to be protected. Systems are available from 400 CFM and higher, offering design flexibility to meet specific design requirements.
Media Selection
To control specific contaminant gases, the DBS is filled with up to three different dry scrubbing media manufactured by Purafil. Each media type effectively removes a range of contaminant gases for maximum protection against corrosion.
Economical
The DBS is effective at a low cost per CFM. Specific pressurisation and efficiency requirements can be met, reducing the capital cost of the equipment.
System Compatibility
The DBS is designed to be compatible with the Purafil Corrosive-Air System (CA) and the Purafil Side Access System (PSA) when room requirements include environmental recirculation.
